Da Nang is favored by nature, situated in the middle of the three world cultural heritage sites including the ancient capital Hue, the ancient town Hoi An and the holy land My Son. Such the position highlights the Da Nang’s role in Central Vietnam. This is the place for welcoming, serving and being the entrepot for tourists. Danang has the high and dangerous Hai Van Pass with full of perilous obstacles, engraved “the most grandiose beauty spots in the world”. Son Tra peninsula with numerous small beaches and island – an ideal rendez-vous for tourists, which is surrounded by Da stream, Bai But, Bai Rang, Bai Bac, Bai Nom – the beautiful alluvial plains which bring relaxing moments for tourists on being ingulfed in the splendid dawn and the quietness of crepuscle in a picturesque land. Da Nang City by Han river – a poetic and beautiful sea city plus the hospitability of the city people make it a frequent destination for domestic and international tourists. Talking about Da Nang City, tourists may quickly think that this is a picturesque city by the Han river, by the coast of the Eastern Sea with distinctive attractiveness compared with other sea cities.

Da Nang is also endowed with sea – the vast tourist source of inspiration. In addition to beautiful and clean stretching beaches, Da Nang seaport is one of the most well-known seaport in Vietnam.

Besides the magnificent sceneries, the city is the home to the Museum of Cham Sculpture as well as the ancient pagodas of Hai Chau Pho Da Long Tho, where tourists can hide themselves in an artistic and religious life!


Da nang is in a typical tropical monsoon zone with high temperature and equable climate. The city’s weather is a combination of climatic features of northern and southern Vietnam, with the northern having the more distinct influence. There are two seasons; the wet season lasting from August to December and the dry from January to July. Cold spells occasionally occur in winter, and are not severe and short. The annual average temperature is 25.9oC. The highest temperature is 28-30oC in the months of June, July and August. The lowest is 18-23oC in December, January and February.


As being located in central Vietnam, 764 km from the capital of Ha Noi to the north and 964 km from Ho Chi Minh city to the south, Da Nang can be accessible by roads, railways and airways.

By bus & coach:

From the big cities such as Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh, you can visit Da Nang by using the high quality bus services such as Mai Linh, Phuong Trang, Sinh Cafe, Thanh Buoi, etc. Once coming to the Da Nang bus stations, you can buy bus tickets to get to the city center.

By train:

All trains of various types from the express passenger ones to the freight trains are able to reach Da Nang railway station. By this means of transport, tourists can also enjoy the beautiful view along the way to the city. The north-south trains have odd number signs: E1, S1, S3, S5, S7, SD1. In contrast, trains departed from the south to the north bear even number signs: E2, S2, S4, S6, S8.

By waterway:

The city’s port, named Tien Sa (means fairy landing), is located on Son Tra peninsula, not too far from city center. The port has been hosting cruises carrying passengers from all over the world to visit Da Nang since many years.





This museum is located in the heart of the city, was built in 1915 under the sponsorship of the French Institue of Oriental Studies (EFEO). This is the only place where the unique sculptural works of Champa Kingdom which were collected in decades through various areas covering the whole central part of Vietnam nowadays have been shown since the Museum was founded (1915).

This Museum was built in accordance with Cham architectural type, of 12 rooms, in which 10 used for show rooms, and each of them named a region of which the things were actually found. In the middle part of the Museum, they present the religious and artistic activities of Cham in Simhapura Capital (now is Tra Kieu). There is a souvenir shop where you can choose the stone item imitated the sculptural works of the Champa art.



Marble Mountain belongs to Hoa Hai Ward, Ngu Hanh Son, is far about 7 kilometers from Da nang city to the Southeast. Ngu Hanh Son is located on the yellow sand – bank with 2 kilometers length, 800 meters width. The kind of stone in Ngu Hanh Son has various colors and it is the source of sculpture and arts. Ngu Hanh Son includes 5 mountains: Kim Son (Metal Mountain), Thuy Son (Water Mountain), Moc Son (Wood Mountain), Hoa Son (Fire Mountain) and Tho Son (Earth Mountain). Number No.05 is the important number in orient and 5 mountains contain unique sense.

Metal Mountain (Kim Son) is located in the Southeast, on the bank of Co Co River. Travelling by boat, tourists can contemplate the beautiful scenery. Ben Ngu, the place, the Kings often stayed each time come to Ngu Hanh Son. Today, it did not exist; however, people can see one ironwood pillar near the Quan Am pagoda. On the foot of Kim Son Mountain, there has a cave with 50 meters length, 10 meters width and 10-15 meters height. Located 40km to the southwest of Da Nang City, Ba Na Mountain lies at an altitude of 1,487m above sea-level. It has long been considered as the road to heavenly scenery thanks to the temperate climate with four seasons within a single day, unspoiled forest and the spectacular view over the city of Da Nang.

Ba Na is also well known for the cable car system (round-trip ticket: 160,000d/adult, 120,000d/child, free for under 1m tall children) awarded two Guinness World Records, one for the longest non-stop cable car (5,042.62m) and one for the highest non-stop cable car (1,291.81m) . Sitting in the cabin from the foot of the Ba Na Mountain to the peak of the neighboring Vong Nguyet Hill, tourists will be able to enjoy the breathtaking views of the lush jungle and waterfalls along the way.



Amazing vistas along “one of the best coast roads in the world” can be seen on the Hai Van Pass. Hai Van Pass, meaning ‘ocean clouds pass,’ refers to the mist that rises from the sea, sometimes so thick that it can dramatically reduce visibility. It can climb to an elevation of 496 meters and is a climate boundary between northern and southern Vietnam, and shelters Da Nang from the ‘Chinese winds’ that blow in from the north-west. A road of historical strategic importance, it snakes along the hillside, weaving back and forth through a series of hairpin bends, steep inclines and breathtaking scenery.

Hai Van Pass is located along the Hai Van mountain side, between Thua Thien-Hue and Da Nang city. It is the highest and the most beautiful pass in Vietnam (about 500 meters above sea level), and it is the final mountain belonging to Truong Son. Hai Van Pass is also known as ‘Cloud Pass’ with one side is mountain and other is sea. In the ‘Phu Bien Tap Luc’, Le Quy Don said that: Hai Van is the bound of Thuan Hoa and Quang Nam.



Son Tra Peninsula is 10km from the center of Da Nang City to the North-east and is 693m high above sea level. Son Tra Mountain can be seen from every places of the city. Son Tra looks like a mushroom of which cap is Son Tra Mountain and stalk is a beautiful sandy beach that affords an ideal area for bathing, playing sports, fishing and swimming.

With its sea-oriented appearance, Son Tra acts as a giant screen protecting Da Nang from storms and cyclones coming from the sea. Son Tra is put under the national protected forest regulation since it is a natural preservation area. The Peninsula is famous for its plentiful plants and fauna as well as the attractive scenery. It is said that fairies used to come here for singing, dancing and playing chess so Son Tra is also called Tien Sa (Fairies’ landing place).



Pho Da Pagoda is located at 340 Phan Chu Trinh St.,. It was founded and built by Venerable Thich Ton Thang in 1927 and was restored in 1937,1945, and 1983. Constructed according to the Chinese character Khau, the pagoda includes the Main Hall, a Buddhist Temple room and a lecture-hall. Three bronze Buddha statues cast in 1947 are worshipped inside the Main Hall. On the front ground lays a large oval lake. Standing on a huge rock in the middle of the lake is the 3m-high Kqan Yin Statue.

Pho Da was famous for what was formerly named the Branch Central Institute of Buddhism Study. In 1961, its name was changed to Pho Da Pagoda. This is where many Buddhist monks and nuns of the province have been trained over the last three decades. Presently, the pagoda is also the location of the School of Basic Buddhism Study.



Danang lies on the west side of the Han River and the beaches are to the east. The Song Han Bridge helps beach driven tourists to get from their hotels to the area`s famous beaches.In the middle of the night, traffic is stopped from crossing the Song Han Bridge and it swings on its axis to allow shipping traffic to pass along the river. The Song Han Bridge in Danang is a suspension bridge that is dazzlingly lit up at night. The area around the bridge is beautifully paved into a riverside promenade and is the location of Danang`s cultural center.

The Song Han Bridge was built by the people of Danang and holds a special place in their pride for their city. The bridge also has the distinction of being the first swing bridge to be built in Vietnam. The bridge is an important part of Danang`s cityscape.


Linh Ung Pagoda was built facing the sea on the cliff of Thuy Son Mountain under the reign of King Minh Mang. It was rebuilt in 1970 with contributions from Buddhist followers. The pagoda houses a set of white stone statue. On the right of the pagoda is Vong Hai Dai (sea-viewing pavilion), which offers a clear view of Non Nuoc Beach.

Tang Chon Grotto lies behind Linh Ung Pagoda. On the foot of the Marble Mountains, are the two villages of Quan Khai and Hoa Khue,that boast traditional marble carvings, such as bracelets, ashtrays, animal statues, etc.




Da Nang is famous nationwide for its beautiful sandy beaches. One of the most crowded beaches here is My Khe beach in Phuoc My Ward, Son Tra District. Located near city center, My Khe beach is the popular rendezvous for local people and tourists alike, especially in the summer. With 900m in length, it has large space, nice view and good services. Hotels, restaurants, vehicles keeping sites, sunshades and buoys for hire are all available to satisfy bathing need for everyone. My Khe beach has long been an ideal destination for tourists to escape from the daily busy life.


One of the most popular beaches in Da Nang city that tourists are advised to come and enjoy is Bac My An beach. Situated in Bac My An Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, about 7km south east of the city center, the 4km-long beach is well known as an international coastal resort.

It is white sand, clear blue water as well as high-quality resorts that make Bac My An beach impressive in the eyes of many tourists. Bac My An beach with its nice beauty and good service is truly a terrific place for locals and visitors to take a rest after so many hard days at work.


Thanh Binh is one of the most beautiful and convenient beaches in Danang city. Such sea services as water-skiing, traveling by boat, canoeing etc. have been strongly developed.

This is also a rather ideal place for the construction of seaside hotels, leisure centers and small-scale tourist wharves. The beach is calm and there is rarely whirling water. It situated in Danang Bay along Nguyen Tat Thanh Street.


Non Nuoc beach belongs to Hoa Hai ward, Ngu Hanh Son, Da Nang city. It lasts 5 kilometers and it has arc shape along the foot of Ngu Hanh Son Mountain. Non Nuoc Beach has been voted as one of the most beautiful and attracting beaches of the planet, 2005, according to Forbes, the leading magazine of America. This beach has gentle slope, mild waves, and purely blue sea water during the four seasons. The unpolluted water source here has attracted a number of tourists coming to bathe, enjoy local special sea foods and take a rest for weekends. The beach Non Nước is also a place that exist precious and rare seaweeds such as gracilarias “yellow thread” and glacilaria “screw” that have high value of exporting.

Somewhere in Da Nang beach has many coral, diversity of seafood. All beaches are very close to the central city, you can go by many ways. Non Nuoc beach has a combination between wave levels, climate, season… they are suitable for all kinds of water sports. Besides, tourists can visit Ngu Hanh Son, ancient pagoda, cave, village or floating on the Co Co River. With green water and white sand, Non Nuoc Beach stretches five kilometers along the shore of Hoa Hai Ward at the foot of Ngu Hanh Son (The Marble Mountains). The beach is famous for its seaweed, which reaches exportation standards.



Da Nang has miles of beaches, resulting in plenty of swimming opportunities from May to August when the sea is calm but for those who simply cannot wait to get wet the city also features an exciting water park – the first built in the country. In this mild climate a game of golf is a pleasure and Da Nang certainly delivers with three professionally designed courses with great views and facilities.

The city’s March 29 Park has many activities for both children and adults alike while if you’re rained in you can learn more about this country’s super healthy cuisine and its preparation.


This is an enormous water park located right in the centre of the city, on September 2nd Street. Danang Water Park covers 10 hectares and is the first amusement park, not only of Danang but also central Vietnam. It is lots of fun – and not just for kids – with slides, pools and the like. In addition, there is an open-air stage where cultural and musical performances are held. It’s on the riverbank, 2km beyond the Ho Chi Minh Museum.


There are a few big golf courses under development including two 18-hole courses, named Dunes and Heritage both designed by Greg Norman, but the first international standard course already open to golfers is the Montgomerie Links Vietnam Golf Club. Designed by Colin Montgomerie, the club is located just off Ha My Beach and minutes from Da Nang’s International Airport. The 18-hole course, built in 2007, has facilities including a clubhouse, pro-shops, restaurant and member lounge as well as a spa.


It is not easy to find food that is as healthy as Vietnamese. If you appreciate Vietnamese cuisine try a cooking class when in Danang. Many hotels in Danang offer Vietnamese cuisine classes such as the Furama Resort Danang on China Beach.


March 29th Park is situated in the city centre, opposite Danang supermarket (commercial centre), on Dien Bien Phu Street. There is lots of entertainment in the park such as a train that steams around the lake, water bicycles, a funny house and an underwater world. The park also exhibits hundreds of kinds of flowers, trees, ornament fish and rare animals.



A trip to Da nang would not be complete without visiting a local market. There are many different markets scattered around the city. The markets offer a glimpse into the local culture and it is fuexploring the different stalls. Markets are also a good place to sample local cuisine. Shopping centers are also N located within Da nang.

Han market       

One of the biggest markets in Da Nang is Han market located in the center of the city among 4 streets: Tran Phu St, Bach Dang St, Hung Vuong St, Tran Hung Dao St. It covers an area of 28.000 square meters. From a small trading place born during the French domination, Han market has gradually developed into a big one thanks to being situated on convenient road and sea traffic.
